You were made in the image and likeness of God for a reason, you were made according to his plan. You were made to live a blessed life full of love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Come and learn the ways of God and change how you see yourself and the world.
Up until now, you've been living like a person being dropped in the forest without a map. Searching, but not really knowing where you were going, only hoping you'd make the right decisions which would lead you in the right direction and get you the results you hoped for. Basically walking in darkness without the light of God to guide you on your way and give you direction and guidance to fulfill your purpose in this life. That is why some have a great life and some don't. It is the luck of the choices they make during their life. But once you find God, and make him first in your life, your life takes on new meaning, purpose and guidance in your steps for your life going forward. Allowing you to obtain the joy, love and peace God wants for you.
We believe we are at the center of our own Universe. The ruler of our domain that knows what is best to solve our problems and that of others. If we could only have want we want, get people to do what we want, then life would be pretty care free. Or that is at least the thought. But that is what usually gets us in trouble and allows us to make poor, rash decisions. Because we often make those decisions solely based upon our own desires without much thought about how those decisions may affect others or the impact that those decisions will have on our lives going forward. We only focus on the moment. Often forgetting that we live a world where everyone else has those same desires which in turn impedes our goals and impacts our life, sometimes in a negative way. This results in us looking to God as some sort of genie in a bottle. Someone that grants our wishes so that our life can turn out exactly as we hoped. Then becoming disillusioned with God or feel that God doesn't care about us or our problems when those prayers aren't answered according to our wishes. But in all honesty, nothing could be further from the truth. God loves you and knows exactly what you need before you even ask for it. But we forget that God's ways aren't always our ways and it's not until you become a true child of God that you will you realize just how much God loves you and you'll begin to understand how he works in your life and guides your steps, and those of others, to fulfill the purpose he has for you according to his plan.
Life has its ups and downs and many times we become frustrated when life seems to be dishing out lemons instead of roses. A job doesn't work out, a relationship doesn't work out. Maybe you've experienced tragedy by the loss of a loved one. Regardless of the circumstances, in those moments, sometimes it's easy to say, "why God, why did you allow this to happen to me." We'll the simple truth is that we live in a sinful world and most of our problems are caused by other people who aren't walking in God's ways. A company lays off its workers to increase profits; someone goes out drinking and then drives and crashes their car into yours while drunk. God is all powerful, and of course he control everything and stop every bad thing from happening. But what kind of world would we be living in if God was controlling every action, every minute of every day, making sure it didn't affect anyone in a negative way? Wouldn't be much of a life because God would be pretty much making every decision for us. But instead, God created a world that allows for both sin and goodness. Why? Because why would you ever love and worship him, if life was perfect and you didn't need him? Why would you ever have to choose goodness over sin if God was controlling all your choices? Why would you ever strive to be good and a light to the world if everyone was good and their was no darkness?
In the beginning, when all the people of the world, at that time, spoke only one language and came together to build a tower (Babel) that reached into the heavens to make a name for themselves, God scattered them throughout the world and mixed up their languages. Why? because we were made to walk in harmony with God. Where he would be our God and we would be his people. We were never made to be live an independent life away God. A life where we did not need him. Yet, we often forget that God is the creator and we are his creation. Made to service his purpose. Doesn't that make sense? Think about it, does anything get created by anyone without a purpose? Does anyone build a machine and then sets it in the forest, hoping it will find its own purpose or usefulness? Of course not. A Creator thinks about every aspect of an item before it is created to make sure it will satisfy the Creator's plan. Likewise, God had a reason and purpose for us before he ever created us. Yet many people don't want to accept this exactly because we have the ability to make our own choices on which way we want to live our lives.
Yet, it is our sinful nature which turns our eyes away from God. God said that we all have sin within us, waiting at the door to overpower us, and we must learn to master it. God is the creator and possesses the knowledge of evil as well as good, but masters it and doesn't allow it to be a part of him or control his decisions. Likewise, since we were made in his image and to be just like him, sin is a part of our life, and it was always intended to be a part of our life. Otherwise, why would their be a tree of the knowledge of good and evil and a tree of life in the Garden of Eden it they didn't fit into God's original plan? We know when he restores his kingdom, we will eat from the tree of life and live forever with him. Likewise, the tree of knowledge of good and evil was there because God always intended for it to be part of his plan. Without the knowledge of evil, would Jesus ever need to be sacrificed for our sins? It was intended because we needed the knowledge of evil in order to appreciate the good things of God. Therefore, we need to realize, that when bad things happen to us, it is caused by a sinful world full of people that don't have the self control to master their sin. That's why we need to love them and help them understand that God loves them and doesn't want them to be a slave to their sin. That only through mastering our sin and walking in the ways of God can we reach the true life God intends for us.
